Tolo is a small village of just over a thousand permanent residents which swells to double that during the summer months. It is located just a two hour drive from Athens (passing over the Corinth Canal) or Kalamata and has become a successful small toursit resort over a period of thirty years. It's close proximity to Nafplion, the first capital of Greece, makes it a popular choice for both foreign and Greek holidaymakers.
The beach is sandy and the water is shallow, ideal for all ages. It is warm and rarely has waves as it is in a sheltered bay. It is well organised beach with plenty of choice of watersports for the athletic visitor.
History & nature lovers will be in their element in the Peloponnese and using Tolo as a base from where to visit all the wonderful sites of the Peloponnese at any time of the year.
The town follows the coastline in a half moon shape and is sheltered by a range of low mountains which means that it is sheltered from high winds and very bad weather. There is a breeze from the sea over the hot summer months giving some cool relief.
The town offers everything a visitor would need during his holiday including supermarkets, bakers, butcher, post office, pharmacies and a variety of gift shops.
There are many cafes, bars, restaurants and tavernas to choose from if you feel like eating out or sitting and enjoying a coffee or a drink either on the beach or people watching on the main road.
All in all Tolo is recommended for couples, families and groups of friends of mixed ages as it has something to please everyone!
